Our Business Goal To educate the general public on the historical geology of the Appalachian Mountains, how they were formed and what can be found here. Doc's Rocks Gem Mine is an Appalachian Mountain based gemstone mining operation. We purchase mine ore by the ton from local gemstone mines located in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. My family loves Doc’s Rocks! We live in Boone and enjoy the dinosaur museum and mining for gems. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. When folks are visiting our area I always tell them to be sure and go to Doc’s!

What a fun Place! Everyone there is so nice and helpful at Docs Gem Mine. We came 2 years ago and went mining, and we had to come back this past week. Both times we found some really beautiful stones, we made into a ring or Pendant. Cant wait to come back!!
