About this business

Our Business Goal To educate the general public on the historical geology of the Appalachian Mountains, how they were formed and what can be found here. Doc's Rocks Gem Mine is an Appalachian Mountain based gemstone mining operation. We purchase mine ore by the ton from local gemstone mines located in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. All the staff were so nice nice and accommodating. the atmosphere was very inviting. and we learned so much more about our stones than any other gem mining place that we've ever been to they took the time to explain what each of them meant and how they were formed in the earth it was just a really awesome and I would recommend this place to anyone

Was absolutely not impressed with this place at all. It is super small and cramped inside. The final straw was when we got to the check out station where they tell you about what you’ve found. The girl doing this obviously hates her job. She spoke extremely fast and then snapped at my 3 children (8,9,10) who were simply being inquisitive. Do not recommend at all. Huge waste of money - my kid’s even agreed.

We did some panning/manning and decided to have 3 cut. We got our cut stones today, much faster than expected. They look great! Thanks!

Found some lovely rocks and gem stones: one ruby was big enough to cut and set for a ring! can't wait to go back with my grandchildren!
