Just like what rackshack/softlayer use to be like. Not the same level of customer service - but for web servers they are great value.

Digital Ocean is a big liar. Specially their Free trial, they want your credit card information to be stored in their database. First they will give 100$ free to test. Specially newbie who don’t know how to cancel or stop. Then they will charge your card for 100$+ without your permission. I have wasted my 100$. Requested them to refund because i was not using their servers nor service but they refused to refund.

Business response:

To prevent being billed, it is important that services be removed from our cloud panel. The $100 promotion is for 60 days, or until you use the $100, which ever comes first. All services are recurring, we give customers the ability to remove their data and halt further billing at any time. We're sorry to hear that this was not the experience that you expected, and we take your feedback to heart.

I don't know why people are giving a bad review. I'm already using DO for 5months. Their support team is not instant but active and reliable. I've got the best uptime then many popular hosting providers. GCP and AWS is great, but DO is improving every day. Pricing is great and affordable, didn’t face any login related issues. Since, secured my IP with CF, didn’t face any security threats upto now. Spinning up Droplets is easy, and there's so many applications (like templates) to start instantly. Very happy with it 😊

After more than 15 days trying to solve a security incident related to a scam they have not deigned either to answer us or to solve the ticket of the incident. Talking to them through the chat is useless. They are incompetent. We do not recommend their service at all.

Terrible support. $100 free credit doesn't include any decent spec server. All options disabled prompting you to verify your account via a 'ticket', yet they don't actually tell you how to do this.
