Super helpful and friendly staff. Oh, and great ice cream
After visiting the shop for the first time ever, I immediately returned the following day. Both times I purchased the cotton candy ice cream, and was amazed at how great the flavor had been. Loads better than somewhere like Cold Stone, in my opinion. I also added gummy bears as a topping, and they were so much more delicious than the regular flavors for purchase at grocery stores and most candy shops. My childhood visits always included trips to Dewars for ice milk and chews. Still visiting 40+ years later and still loving the ice milk and chews (though I am old school and stick to the caramel, peanut butter and peppermint ones!)!!
I absolutely loved this place! The ice cream was so delicious! I especially loved the strawberry flavor. I had a banana split and it was topped with marshmallow cream and your choice of peanuts, almonds or walnuts. A must try while in Bakersfield!

Was there over the weekend for a concert at the Fox theater. Was planing to have my wife with me, but turned she couldn't go due to space. Well she told me YOU HAVE TO GET ME SOME DEWARS CHEWS!. So she did her home and texted me the addresses and hours of operation. She didn't know that I had already had asked a few Bakersfield locals about Dewars Candy shops.
