So I'm not one to usually complain, on here anyways, but I'm pretty annoyed and need to vent. My nephew Brenden who is a Senior in HS still got a job at Dewars Ice Cream shop. Upon hiring him they knew full well he was still in HS but it didn't seem to be a problem. That was until the manager scheduled him for training at 8 am on a FRIDAY morning when he had school. My family and I absolutely love everything about Dewars. Since my parents were born in Bakersfield and we visit extended family, we always try and make a Dewars run and enjoy a Black & White choosing ice cream flavors they handmake at the store. Although there are a few locations in Bakersfield, we always find ourselves at the original one on Eye St. Old fashion ice cream at an old fashion ice cream parlor is the best way. Not a good experience for my first time at Dewar's. I was told they were shorthanded and behind. Finally, I placed my order of a mint chip cone. I was handed a very melted, runny, pink ice cream on a cone. I was told the mint chip is usually softer than other flavors because of the candy cane pieces. The flavor was good, but the ice cream was very melted and running down the cone and my fingers.
