As the mom of two Eagle Scouts I was very saddened with the decision to remove Ames Mayfield from his den. Ames should be applauded for his independent thinking and courageous line of questioning. Why wouldn't the Broomfield den want such a standout young man among them? What are they afraid of?

Curiosity should be encouraged, not punished. A child asked a senator a legitimate question about allowing domestic abusers to own a gun, and a scout leader ousted him. Shame on him and the organization for supporting him.

Reinstate Ames Mayfield and relieve the den leader who dismissed him of his duties. Boy Scouts is supposed to be non partisan right?

Shame on you, Scouts!!! Why would you do this to such an apparently inquisitive and respectful young person?? Good questions young man.

First you guys decide to include girls because your enrollment is down (wow no thanks). Then you kick out a scout who asked a really good question (rooted to some extent in women's rights) of your racist govt rep. What kind of organization are you running?

My how far you have fallen in the years since I was in BSA. This whole incident with Ames Mayfield sure won't help with your recruiting problems. Kicking a child out of his den for asking hard questions is not how we make better citizens. As an Eagle Scout this angers me more then the president spouting nonsense at the jamboree.

I'm sorry, I thought BSA promoted "citizenship" not "censorship". My bad.
