I have never been a fan of this hospital as the Staff has been some of the rudest, lazy, and unprofessional group I have ever encountered. I currently have a family member staying here due to having COVID, and the experience was great when the House Coordinator thought she could lie and force us to take our loved one off the ventilator. been going here for 50 yrs always pay my bills yes i have insurance and make payments on their payment plan made monthly payments and yes its been sometime since it was 0 but i sent payments every month. Now someone has decided since i cant pay 100 dollars they turn me over to a collection. told me they had a program that loans you money and you pay them . hum same thing i was doing know thats the way i would treat a paying client of mine. Awesome care at DMH, just don't get admitted, some nurses are just plain rude and there's no one to watch over them during this pandemic. It was a great place until Covid protocol's kicked in.

Sitting for 3 hours and not being seen by a Dr is ridiculous. We could have driven to St Louis and seen a Dr sooner. This hospital has gone downhill in the worst way in the last few years. Totally understand why people don't want to come here anymore.

horrible experience this past week with DMH My mother broke her leg, Overnight nurse left her in a urine pan for an hour and now her doctor is rushing her home for the weekend with pins sticking out of open wounds in her leg to wait to be transferred to Springfield MONDAY. The doctor showed NO compassion and now my family will have to perform nurse's and doctor's duties. Do not take your loved ones to DMH if you care about them.

If you aren’t a covid patient they don’t have time for you. Grandson cut his finger and needed stitches, they glued it instead even after my son in law questioned if that was the right thing to do considering how bad it was. Next day horribly infected. Several doctors said it should have been stitched. He should’ve had an antibiotic.
