My partner and I required a place to stay whilst visiting family due to last-minute circumstances, so we rushed down. Without hesitation, I jumped online to book the first highly recommended place to stay at an affordable price. We booked into the Cumberland Hotel for three nights. People at the reception are very friendly, but the cleaning crew is not so good. Below, I am attaching a photo of the “made” bed by the cleaning crew, as well as a few other pictures of the bathroom. The floor is so dirty that my socks stick to it. The windows are also unwashed, and I suspect the thick curtains haven’t been washed in a long time. The 2 stars just for the location. Good staff but absent. Old rooms, the heater was not enough to cover every need, air conditions should be put in the rooms. As you can see in the photo there have been rubbish under the bed from the previous ones which were never removed. So, the room was not cleaned carefully. You could hear everyone walking and talking out of your room. There was not soundproofing at all, as a consequence you could not sleep.
