Very nice hotel, but very deceptive. We booked this location because we liked the idea of exploring a castle. Unfortunately, this was not the case. They do advertise having castle suites, and other separate rooms. We didn’t need to stay in the castle, but the fact that we weren’t able to even go inside was a huge let down. Reception, the restaurant, and everything else is in a separate, much newer and modern looking building. They seem attentive and communicate throughout the property. However I'm not sure some get it. Room's are very large, very beautiful and great view. They can get warm especially at night. Would be nice for a fan or something. The castle hotel is pretty inside and out. However, 5 star place this does not meet. Let me explain, first we had lunch, they said are you two vegan? Yes. They gave us a list of what we could eat. We had the soup which was decent after we added salt. And sandwiches which were ok but the bread was burnt.... read more
Absolutely beautiful place. Food was amazing, room was beautiful and clean, entertainment at night was amazing, the dancers were so friendly and our walk around the castle was so nice, honestly could not fault the place…. Staff were also very friendly, definitely will book again. Thank you so much for making our anniversary stay perfect 👌
Upon arrival at Crossbasket Castle, it wasn’t clear to us where to go for the reception. We asked in the castle and two lovely staff members pointed us in the right direction for the new building. There we received a rather frosty “welcome”. The woman on reception was helpful but not warm nor friendly. The room was lovely.
