Had a lovely stay at the Fox at Hurley. The rooms are clean, well furnished and beautifully decorated with slightly different themes. Access to the main door and each room is provided with a key code, a separate one for each booking — safe and no need to worry about loosing a key. The owners were kind and very responsive, making sure we were comfortable. The location is lovely, situated in a beautiful village with a couple of pubs and lovely walking paths. We stayed at The Fox at Hurley for two evenings. What a pleasure! Ian and Vanessa are very welcoming and accommodating as are the women that work with them in the Farm Shop where we had breakfast. The rooms are super clean, cozy and comfortable, and the whole interior of The Fox is full of character. The building is located on a road that is not a through road so very quite. If it were possible to leave 0 stars, I would. The place itself looked nice, but my experience was awful. The heating didn’t work at all, and I had two terrible nights of sleep — waking up around 5am both nights absolutely freezing. There was also no hot water, which was only temporarily fixed after I reported it the first morning, but the same issue happened again the next night. It’s completely unacceptable to rent out a property without working heating or hot water, especially in cold weather. What should have been a comf... read more
