There was a particular front desk advisor, and I apologize I failed to capture her name as her name tag was not properly displayed. I recently booked an award hotel reservation on Marriot.com for July 3rd to July 4th for a stay in Zurich in Marriot Courtyard for 30,000 points. I canceled the reservation on June 10th because my travel plan has changed. However, 30,000 points were deducted from my Marriot account on July 3rd and in addition, I was charged $318.43 on my credit card. This hotel should consider adding the $22 Destination Fee that they charge daily, into their listed base price. If all patrons will be charged this fee, regardless of using the extra amenities, such as a bottle of wine and beach umbrellas, it should be in the daily rate, not an extra charge in addition to the room charge, city taxes and state occupancy taxes.

Lied and cheated. Lied they are closest to airport and cheated by charging cancellation $12.75

This is one of the worst Hotels, I have ever stayed. They are the racists.

Marriott overbooks and then turns away travelers when they show up to check in. We booked a room at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance for the First Robotics Competition World Championships April 26 and 27, 2018. The room was booked directly through the Marriott website on April 3, 2018. We immediately received an email confirmation. We even received another confirmation email April 25th. I was promised the BEST RATE pre-paid rate at the Hotel. I paid out of pocket of 550.00 and waived ALL rights to any cancellation. I did this because I wanted to get a deal. Looks like the new rates are very much cheaper and the hotel refused to price match. DO NO EVER PRE-PAY AT THIS HOTEL. They treated me like I did something wrong by pre-paying when in fact, had I simply spent 30 bucks more with ZERO down I would be sitting $150.00 richer at the moment. Zero ethics. Zero grey areas. 3rd time they have canceled my reservation!! “Overbooked!!!!” THEN I call the ************** loyalty rewards line, get passed to a supervisor, AND THREE TIMES IN A ROW HANG UP ON ME! I book travel for my team of 8 associates who travel each week. I will NEVER use Marriott again! Worst. Customer. Service. Ever.
