I've spent a week waiting for Consumers to come and inspect a massive broken and dangling branch overhanging the power lines in front of my house. They did so yesterday, and the inspection consisted of a guy pulling up in a pickup, looking out the window for 10 seconds, and leaving a note on my neighbors house that it wasn't their problem. My power has gone off 7 times in 7 months. Two times in one day with the sun shining. After turning it back on once, they said it was planned, but we were not communicated that it was going to go off. Also they say trees are at fault for a lot of the power outages that happen right after they went through and cleared all the trees around the power lines. So where did these trees come from? If only I could go with another company.

They are a scam, after paying $150 a month on the “Budget Plan” and paying every month on time, I went to end my account because it was an apartment, well turns out they can charge you extra overages and usage, so now i have to fork out another $200! SCAM

I am very unhappy with the customer service provided. My gas was shut off in April when it was 30 degrees while I was in vacation with no notification. I found out after paying a HVAC company 100$ to tell me my gas was off. They gave me the reasoning, that when I transferred the service after buying the home, they failed to add both meters to the bill so somehow that was my fault....I didn't even know I had two meters??? And that is how they informed me, 9 months later...

If i could leave less than one star I definitely would. I have a small business and have not had the use of it for over a month. I have some power issues and am told I need consumers energy to set a new pole. I have requested that they get me a quote on how much it will be for them to set the pole and every time I call I get shuffled around to different people and each person I talk to gives me a different story. This company is ripping students off at MSU. I am paying almost $300 (Some paying 500+) a month to heat my apartment. This is unfair and needs to be looked into. When I had BWL I only payed $80 at most all year. Almost feels criminal to target poor college students like this.

This energy company allowed my home and everyone else in area to go without power for a week (over Christmas) in the winter two years ago. We are always last to get turned back on here. (school section lake, Canadian lakes/mecosta area) We are in central Michigan. They do absolutely nothing to maintain their lines in our area! Everytime there is a storm of mediocre magnitude here we go days without power. B.S.!

Okay, I must say that i absolutely love Consumers energy, but the lack of help in an awful situation really has upset me. I had a guy come up to my door who said he had put in a new meter for consumers energy and that he had to check my bill. So i went in, got my bill, and gave it to him. Come to find out, this guy did not work at Consumers, he worked for another gas company in California? I found this out because i received a 900$ bill shortly after.
