I get a CALL from Consumers Energy every hour about a LATE BILL. Problem is - that I don't have and NEVER had their service. And, when I call them to tell them to STOP calling me . . . they say the CAN'T stop it. So, the HARASSMENT continues. If the phone number is incorrect in the AUTOMATED CALLING application . . . and it happens to be YOUR phone number. YOU ARE SCREWED forever. They will not stop calling me and it boggles the mind. Commons sense does not apply to this company.
I made my appointment to turn my gas on they said wait at the house from 12 to 4 which I did. At 12:35 a consumers energy van rolled down the street and parked almost a block and a half away I noticed them and ran after them to flag them to the right house, they never left the vehicle and left the neighborhood. Only wish I could rate a 0 star. Made an on line payment, only to find out that since the consumers energy site had "issues", my payment did not process. In order to have power restored, I was required to pay over two times the bill with the overage held for a minimum of 6 months. No real explanation offered, no help offered. This is quite frankly, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If only we had a choice for our power.
I agree with previous reviews. How can this company be an A+ company when all reviews are negative? And so many complaints? As everyone has mentioned, horrible customer service, rude and do not do what they say they will. 119 complaints on billing? What is going on? Absolutely horrible company to have energy through. My wife and I lived in a modest apartment and always monitored our electricity, never running heat/AC, leaving lights on, or even leaving electronics plugged in when not in use. Our bills averaged an upwards of about $30/mth, with the occasional rarity of reaching up to $36-39 if we decided to splurge and run AC or heating. Absolutely horrible company. I caught one of their employee parked down the street....when I left to my sons house 2 blocks away..I caught her sneaking in my gate....I confronted her....and said I been home watching u sit in ur car....I left for 2 seconds and you tried to go in my gates....NOT ACCEPTABLE....I have 2 pitbulls...and it is on my account that they must make contact and be let in....to prevent my dogs from having to be killed over her trespassing. The customer service has been really bad recently. After they upgraded the website a couple of months ago, I all of a sudden realized I have not been paying the electric bill for months. I went to the website and noticed the system change. Obviously I went to review my profile again make sure my preferred bill options and correct email address were still there. They are. Starting in August of 2016, we have had nothing but issues with this company. The first time we called was because we tried to set up auto pay and it would not let us. The they said we had to do it at a certain time of the month. After we had waited a month to do that, it still would not let us, the customer service rep we talked to was just plain rude and didn't want to help at all. The first person I spoke with was rude, spoke over me, and repeated herself until I asked for a manager. The manager explained that they should have never offered me the payment plan that they recommended to me, and then told me that they would not allow arrangements on the $300 I just learned about. I had a shut off notice for 5 days, and I had just paid $220 6 days ago, when I thought I was on the payment arrangement which they put me on and then told me it was a mistake.
