Got my dog Brodie from here about 3 years ago and I can’t imagine life without him! The volunteers were very helpful and told me their personal experiences with him and also brought him into the cat room for me to see if he showed any aggression towards cats. I highly recommend a vet visit (regardless of where you adopt) as I found out he had tape worms about a week after I brought him home. Overall, best experience I could have asked for! The first pic is the pic I found of him on the CHA fb page and the second one was of h... read more
We just fostered a dog from here for the first time and were very impressed. They gave us a pillow, bone, toys...enough to make it obvious that they care enough not only to think about necessities, but about the genuine confort and happiness of their animals. The animals there are well cared for and it shows and the volunteers and staff are incredibly helpful and passionate. My friend later adopted the same dog and they were incredibly thorough going over her medical history, her temperament, the microchip, pet insurance and... read more
I help foster one of the puppys at coconino and just thought it was a great program!! they gave me everything I needed from meds to food and cage and answered every text. If I can continue to help out let me know!! The picture I'm showing was the puppy I helped out to get her ready for adoption!
Thank you Coconino Humane Association! Oreo is doing great and learning everyday!
I've adopted a few fur-babies from here. definitely recommend
saving one distemper or parvo puppy is expensive saving over 25 at a time is outrageous but this shelter puts their heart and soul into every animal regardless of condition if you want to help animals in Coconino County donate to the medical program for Coconino Humane Association I can't tell you what a wonderful caring people they are their director is a blessing, a straight talker, and thinks outside the box as to how we can save more... if your looking to help animals this year volunteer, foster or donate
I've been volunteering at this shelter every week for many months. I am very sensitive to animal rights issues and I have found it difficult to be in some shelters, but this one is so positive and wonderful. The staff do everything they can for all the animals. I've watched many animals grow and heal in this environment, and most are adopted out quite quickly. CHA does everything they can for every animal, and more, given their resources. I'm happy to support them in their efforts.
On a trip to Arizona recently we visited two different animal shelters, as we usually do on vacations. I have been to many animal shelters. Experiencing Coconino Humane made me very emotional. It is one of the worst facilities I have ever visited. The animal accommodations are very small and restricted. No sunlight, no toys, no comfy bedding. The animals appeared mostly depressed or scared. Please don't get me wrong... this is in NO way a reflection of the employees or volunteers. I fault the lack of funding and those who ar... read more
