BILLING ISSUES - my appointments are the only billing issues where my at-time-of-appointment billing does not match my actual point-of-service receipts and credit card statements. They are months behind in matching up my payments to my statement and I get very annoyed when in MyChart (Cleveland Clinics client portal) shows “OUTSTANDING BALANCE - YOU OWE” with a 3-4 hundred dollar balance. I am having an issue with CCF Billing. My insurance covers 100% for a physical and labs less the $25 co-pay. I called insurance as to why they didn't cover $17.26 for my office visit. They said look at your EOB. You don't owe that money. This was for an appointment in August. I sent the EOB's to CCF who in turn sent me to collections for $17.26 in December with nothing but rude people in their billing department. Now that is ridiculous. My husband has an appointment for a physical with his primary physician at the CCF - Strongsville. Our insurance covers 100% of the physical and labs for the annual physical. However we received a bill for the labs. I contacted the insurance company to find out why. I was told we were billed because the physician coded the labs as diagnostic instead of screening. The insurance agent advised that we contact the doctor and ask him to change the codes. The doctor refused to change the labs for diabetes and cholesterol due to he... read more

I was scheduled for eye surgery at Cole eye institute in Akron Ohio. The eye doc did not fully explain my concerns. I explained to him that one of the eye drops could cause glaucoma. His response was "Yeah". I said I was nervous about some of the eye drops and didn't want to worry about becoming blind. He made another horrible comment which I am not printing here. I was sent to Dr ***** *************@ the Cleveland clinic by the VA. Complaint: muscle stiffness and pain. Dr refuses to answer questions regarding my medical history that led up to my condition. I have asked several times if he considered the events that precipitated my condition. He will not respond. Additionally, he has entered diagnosis that were never discussed with me. I am a patient in the Functional Medicine Dept. It’s nearly impossible to get ANY appointments. When I do finally secure one, it’s only for 30 minutes. I don’t get responses to most MyChart messages. It’s too stressful to deal with this hospital system when I am already dealing with chronic health issues. CC is ALL about money without consideration for the care of patients.

Regarding CC altogether since appts are scheduled through centralized department, where appt was scheduled with GI dept at CC-Florida-Coral Springs... 1-star given because I cannot give 0- stars. I scheduled appt 10 weeks prior and received no notification that the appt was cancelled due to whatever excuse was made. At the facility, the staff downstairs couldn't even reach the dept to reschedule an appt (not that I would reschedule an appt with such an unprofessional dept). I went to Cleveland Clinic in Mayfield Heights (6770 Mayfield Rd.), for a Colonoscopy. I was given a prep sheet and it said nothing about blood sugar levels. I'm a diabetic and my blood sugar was 160 and they told me they couldn't do the procedure. I asked them if I could sit there for a while and take my medicine to see if it will help with the blood sugar. From neglecting symptoms stating if it was so bad I would be able to carry papers, and to fully pay for procedures and appointments before hand and then changing the payments later, while also changing the itemized every time I requested one. I will not recommend this organization. I had made complaints to no answers and even ignoring me as I was sitting at their ombudsman desk. This not a hospital but a non-profit that is really a university and is only good for education and not treatments.
