Clayton Homes used newspaper as my Insulation. I payed alot for my insulation, for my floors, walls and roof. I found out by going under my house and seeing newspaper coming out of the black plastic, that was holding the insulation in. I payed for the best insulation. They sure did take my money!!!! Purchased a Clayton Home in April 2022. We sent a list to A-1 Homes in San Antonio of things wrong, some got fixed some didn't. I contacted head office and they told me to contact CMH Manufacturing in Belton Tx. I did this and they ask me to send picures and discriptions. I did this a month ago with no response. I explained my husband passed and was unable to contact them sooner. Since then I had to replaced walls in both bathrooms due to moisture in the walls. Buying a clayton home was the worst mistake we could have made. So many issues with this home. AC ductwork not good only cools down certain rooms, cabinets put in upside down, floor lifting, doors and windows leak when it rains so many other problems with this home and have not even had it for a year yet. You send emails to person who is supposed to help with your issues no response and you email supervisors and no reply to your emails. If I could give a negative review I would. I purchased a doublewide from Clayton Homes in Spencer, WV. October 2022. After I purchased the home I was informed the store was being shut down. I do believe I should have been I informed of this before I made the purchase. The Cheyenne built by Rutledge in Tennessee. I had complaints about the trim before I purchased the home. They promised they would fix the trim once it was on my property. But that was just the beginning of my troubles. The home has black mold under the carpets... read more

I don't even think Clayton homes of Easley should get the 1 star!! They are trying to take advantage of my elderly mother and myself!! We bought a 2023 28x60 in May so my mom could live with me after losing my Dad! We signed papers stating that we must get a first view before home was delivered to my land! It’s all well and good until it’s sold. Then you realize how crappy these are put together. And all the things that were wrong, from the floor to the roof. If I had just did some homework the reviews speak volumes. I’m angry at myself. Don’t make the same mistake I did, read the reviews. See how many 1 star ratings. It’s absurd.

I ordered a home from Clayton Homes of Asheboro, NC, during the second week of April, 2023. I had expressed to my salesperson that I had reservations about Clayton because of my in-law’s 12 month wait on their home. I was assured that this wouldn’t happen this year. Bought our home maybe 7 mo ths ago and we have had issue after issue and the north charleston office where we got our home has not been so great on fixing the issues.. they have sent worthless contractors along with salesman to do repairs and nothing is being resolved on top of more serious issues coming up almost weekly..not sure what to do from here as I was told not long ago my warranty was almost up but nothing has been fixed that I've been reporting on top of more issues I'm noticing tonight as I got home from work

Hi Brian, thank you for reaching out. Our Warranty Tech was there and completed every service item requested prior to the warranty expiring, except for the light fixture (which he has ordered.) Our Service Tech will replace the light fixture as soon as possible. He was out sick yesterday and will be catching up on warranty items this week and next week. Our retailer has placed the request on his desk to schedule when he gets off of the job site today. We recommended to turn any remaining items in with your Home Warranty.
