We stayed in one of the pods which was lovely, warm and cosy. The shared bathroom was spotlessly clean, with a powerful and hot shower. Joanne was a wonderful host, check in was easy and Joanne provided suggestions for local walks. We will definitely be staying there again :)

Beautiful shepherd's hut in tranquil location. Very well thought out space, finished to a high standard with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Warm welcome from hosts, but left to get on with my stay, knowing they were available if needed. Can't wait to return!

We love going to stay in the Shepherds hut at Clay Bank. We’ve been 4 times now, will book again. Very clean .Comfortable bed, lovely bed linen and towels, good size bathroom, adequate cooking facilities, and of course log burning stove, plus central heating, very cosy in the winter. Set in beautiful countryside. What more could you ask for. Big plus the owners are really nice people.It’s also dog friendly. Big bonus.Definitely recommend.

We stayed in the Clay Bank Hut The Alders for 1 night whilst walking the Cleveland Way. It's about 1.8km off the path (downhill, so up on the way back). Very quiet, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The hut/ pod has a small stove and a kettle. The hut runs on solar power and has many USB slots (no 3 pin plugs we could find anyway). The pods are really warm and each has a small deck to sit outside.
