Wonderful lunch and great service.
Great meal. Loved the 3 different colonial breads. Best potpie I've ever had. Our waiter Eric gave us a great colonial experience.
It's just like going back in time, like been in a movie. Great food, awesome beer, excellent service and super artistic enviroment.... makes your mind fly back to those days ...... i am from Chile , my wife American and we lived in Philadelphia for years. I really recommend this restaurant.

Is letting a patron die from diabetic shock historically accurate enough for you? City Tavern refused to give a local mom the information she needs to safely feed her Type I diabetic child visiting there on a field trip. Not cool, City Tavern.
Love this place, we try to eat here each time we visit Philly. Fine food, atmosphere,& service. We love how the staff dress in costume & play parts of various people in history. I recommend eating here on your next visit to Philly, yo won't regret it!
Fun atmosphere and fantastic food!
First of all. Really really nice people. And the ale sampler knocked our socks off. Finally both of our entrees were killer. Love this place. Can't wait to see the PBS series
Loved everything about this establishment! Nice, courteous staff who also took the time to give us the history of the building. Like stepping into the past and an experience to remember! Our meals were also top notch. The colonial breads are a nice touch. We will come back when we again visit Philly.
