It is a nonprofit cooperative and is one of the largest of Florida s 15 electric cooperatives. CHELCO provides service via more than 3,300 miles of power lines. It was established in 1941 and is headquartered in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. It also serves portions of western Holmes and eastern Santa Rosa counties in Florida via offices in Baker, Niceville, Freeport and Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

I just got off the phone with a Chelco employee named LouAnn...she was the most rude, unhelpful person I've EVER dealt with in customer service. I wish I had the option to switch back to Gulf Power. She kept cutting me off, repeating the same thing, instead of even making an attempt to help me! I worked in customer service for 20 years, & would never have treated anyone the way she did me. She has no business in customer service....she was down right hateful! Worst experience ever!!
A bunch of money hungry people that don't care of anything else when they cut your electric off for less than a hundred dollars and done payed 200 dollars less than week before and told them be back in on Friday to pay the rest. We need a different electric company
...just got off the phone with Chelco. Woman on the phone sounded irritated with me calling in an outage at 9pm. Would it kill you to show compassion/empathy?
CHELCO is the best co-op around. They are always quick to respond and do their best to give us great service.
