It is a nonprofit cooperative and is one of the largest of Florida s 15 electric cooperatives. CHELCO provides service via more than 3,300 miles of power lines. It was established in 1941 and is headquartered in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. It also serves portions of western Holmes and eastern Santa Rosa counties in Florida via offices in Baker, Niceville, Freeport and Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

RecommendedLove CHELCO. Lived all over the states and the world and, in my experience, they are the best. The people of CHELCO do a great job keeping our power reliable and reasonably priced. Super responsive when power goes out. Glad I’m a member/owner.
Amazing customer service . this company went above and beyond on a Friday night at 8pm to make sure an elderly couple had power in their home .
Your job is to keep the power on but that seems to be a struggle in Hammock Bay.

Wow, you cut off a families electricity today who are going through a little bit of a hard time instead of working with them. They had 1/2 of what they owe but instead of working with them to get caught up, you shut off their power. Do you people have a heart at all??
Cat 4 hurricane and had power back in 24 hours.All workers go out of there way to speak to residents,Even had a lineman walk up to me during an outage and explain were the outage was and when my power will be up even though I was standing back letting them do their job.They go over and above the call of duty.
the work and dedication these guys are putting in after this storm to help so many is more than you could put into words. thank you all!!!
