It is a nonprofit cooperative and is one of the largest of Florida s 15 electric cooperatives. CHELCO provides service via more than 3,300 miles of power lines. It was established in 1941 and is headquartered in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. It also serves portions of western Holmes and eastern Santa Rosa counties in Florida via offices in Baker, Niceville, Freeport and Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

This company is a complete joke! My power went out during the middle of cooking supper and has been off since then which was around 8:00. I've called customer service and they have been working on the issue the whole time and was very rude. If I had another choice in a power company you best believe this place wouldn't get another copper penny of mine! Keep in mind we bought the house in August and this seems to be a biweekly issue!!!

I have been a customer of Chelco since 2005, I have lived in many places but this is the absolute best provider I have ever had. In these 12 years could probably count on one hand outages that have been over an hour. Only one I can remember was maybe 4 hours.
Great lineman! Good customer service personnel in office! Horrible online customer service! Street light outage hot line is a total joke! 6.5 days to get a high priority streetlight repaired due to hotline; not linemen- they are great!
Chelco is extremely responsive day or night! Thanks for getting our power back on tonight!
