6th floor Dearth wing has amazing nurses. They took great care of my son and his needs.
Wonderful experience. I hope to never visit again. But they treated my 13 year old daughter with kindness and respect, communicated clearly with me and the facility is beautiful.
So far not very impressed. Brought our 22mo son in yesterday 11/10 because has been very sick for a few days. They did an xray of his lungs but no blood work sent us home with inhaler saying it was a virus. He had 100.5 temp today so we brought him back was 101 by the time we get here. They gave him Tylenol and put us in a room nurse/doc (still don't know what she is) comes in after almost 2 hrs checks his temp again still 100.8 so she says ok well I'll be back in awhile to check it again and walks out. While visiting Birmingham for a cheer competition my daughter developed acute appendicitis. We were seen quickly in the ER, well informed about tests and results and admitted as soon as a room was available. She is receiving excellent care, I have a decent in-room bed to sleep on and she loves her getwell:)network entertainment system. I just hope she doesn't get used to the endless stream of jello and ice cream available! They have went above and beyond for my daughter during our stay here at children's the past few days. The doctors and nurses were exceptional! The only thing I see that needs work is the ER, the nurses and doctors where great. But the cleanliness of it was terrible. Very filthy. I was just shocked by that because of all the hard work into remodeling it. But other than that keep doing what y'all are doing, saving children and putting their needs above your own. Thank you!
The care provided here is the best in the state, but the handicapped parking situation is a nightmare for parents who use a wheelchair and need to get their child to appointments and such safely without having to wheel themselves several blocks through cross walks to get where they need to be.
This is a great place of care!!! My son is/was a patient there and he had the best care. The communication is great!!
First time there they are amazing. On third floor Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children Emily and Chelsea were amazing couldn't ask for better nurses.
