We have two kids with chronic severe health issues who are cared for by Children's Mercy. For the most part, the care has been excellent...though my oldest had to undergo two liver biopsies and stay an extra day because someone in the lab lost the first sample. The billing office, however, is absolutely horrible. We have a payment plan set up, and they are constantly referring us to collections even though they auto-deduct the payment monthly. RecommendedThis hospital and the staff are just amazing! Our 3 yr old daughter had OHS last Friday and we were very pleases with how wonderful all the staff was with our little one. Best hospital ever!
I have very bad experience on first time visit in this hospital. They sent me a huge bill amount which is not fair at all. My son had minor skin rash. I went to hospital to get checkup this by some doctor. I parked my car in front of ER and when I entered to the door I asked the guy about the walk-in facility who was sitting in check-in counter. Never will I ever use one of your urgent cares again. Took my son in for a sore throat. The dr flat out said he didn’t have strep but tested for it anyway. Sent home with nothing, not even antibiotics and then get a bill for $500. Are you kidding me? I’ve taken him to other urgent cares for worse things and never paid over $100. $300 of it is just a facility and new patient fee. Way to try and take advantage of people. The best hospital I’ve ever been to! Very professional people from the bottom all the way to the top. They really care and take pride in what they do, and they do a lot!
I have never felt safer placing the health of my son in the hands of CMH staff. From day one they make sure you understand what's going on. The staff treat my son like they have known him for years, making him smile in a time of extreme pain for him. It's just all around a good experience. I am very greatful for CMH and will be for the rest of my life!
This is a review for the CMH Northland Urgent Care Facility since they do not have their own page. I took my 2 year old in for a fever and abdominal pain in Nov. 2017. She was tested for flu, UTI, and an xray was taken. All came back negative. We were sent home and she ended being fine. I received a bill for this visit 6 months later. I have a high deductible plan so I knew it wouldn't be cheap but the bill was over $1000. I called and verified the breakdown of the bill.
