My wife took our two month old daughter to the ER and was there for 8 Hours. They did nothing to help our daughter. They discharged us and said a surgeon will be giving us a call in the next two days. But our daughter is still in pain. Why can't they just help us, by fixing the problem. This is what's wrong with this ER and all others too. You wait a long time to get nothing done. But they will be send me a bill for them doing nothing. If i don't do my work at my job, i don't get paid, so why should you Children's mercy ER g... read more

The horrible treatment my friends son received while critically ill here at CMH was HORRENDOUS! The medical staff continued to make inappropriate comments to the child, refused care many times (even though it was better for the child) and refused to care about the feelings of friends and family or take into account their feelings whatsoever! Run quickly away from this place, especially 6-Henson where they refuse to wear their badges and identify themselves as CMH staff!!!

I'm sure there are great aspects about CMH. But as an RN of 20 years having a critically ill nephew admitted here, I am appaulled at the lack of quality of care! Children's lives being placed in the hands of first year medical residents who have no idea what they are doing (practicing on unsuspecting children), doctors fighting over what the plan of care should be right outside your room where you can hear them, doctors telling my sister they won't perform necessary tests because "it isn't cost effective", an attending physi... read more

My little brother passed away at Children’s Mercy in KC last year March 5th. It was the absolute worst thing I’ve ever been through but the staff at Children’s Mercy were so amazing and so comforting! I loved his doctors so much and I wish I could figure out their names so I can personally thank them!! My brother loved how cool the hospital looked and loved his nurses!!

I can't even begin to express the never ending gratitude my family and I will forever hold for the staff at Children's Mercy! Our son was diagnosed at 24 weeks in utero with a sever birth defect called CDH. They immediately opened their arms to us giving us unlimited amounts of resources we needed to prepare for his birth. We were closely monitored by the fetal health center for the reminder of my pregnancy and our son was born there when he was full term. Its been almost 3 years, but looking back it doesn't even feel real. ... read more
