Bustling sports bar in the Great Northeast keeps it simple, keeps it cheap and keeps it coming. – In Short This spot has plenty of parking, lots of neon signs, TV sets tuned to the game and an ATM just inside the front door. Friendly servers attend to hungry families' needs. The menu isn't large, but what's not to like? Hardshell crabs in season star here in either house-style or spicier Baltimore style. Also try year-round favorites like Old Bay-doused crab fries and meaty buffalo wings.
A good hometown bar! – There's a lot of places in Philly that you can go to but Chickie's & Pete's Cafe on Robbins Ave. has that "good hometown bar" atmosphere! Right away when I entered, the friendly staff made me feel right at home. John kept my glass of beer full and my chicken fingers was just the way I like them.... If you like watching sports with fun and laughter, look for this place in North Philly!!!
Just not worth it – Easily the worst service I've ever had, have been there 3 times and won't ever go back..the host acts as if he's doing you a favor just by taking your name and telling you the wait is 2 hours! It's a shame that people who aren't happy with this place won't try the original Robbins Av location where at least they know how to treat their guests ..suspect that rave review by flc from Chicago was paid for or is really by Chickie or Pete from Philly!
BOO – Went there because it was the place everyone raved about. My bf got his food before me. Those frenchfries shouldn't be considered the best in the world because they weren't. To top it all off . . . this joint should have a bigger menu - given the fact that it's pretty big. Never going there again.
Could eat here every day – I love this place. The people at the Boulevard one need an attitude adjustment though. If you want great friendly service, go to the Robins avenue one. It's crowded and small, but the atmosphere is the best. Crabs, mussels, hot shrimp and lots of bread to sop up the awesome garlic sauce.
Lots of fun for games – Chickie and Petes is not somewhere that you go to have a full dinner. Thier crab fries are a signiture item...the mussels red seem to be a favorite among the people that I go with as well as the crab legs. If you are wanting a place to go to watch a big game...C & P's is your answer
world famous fries!!!!!!!! – over rated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very avg. place. the fries are not that good
User review by drymal – Never go by first impressions...bad service first time..could be a bad day...everyone has them..Unfortunately, second, third and fourth visit...terrible service...drinks are Center City prices..great cheese fries
Try to catch an Eagles game here--if you can get in the door. – In Short The original in a chain of working-class sports bars, this pub packs in local fans seven nights a week. Chickie's atmosphere--big bars, flat-screen TVs, Coors Light banners--is a sports fan's dream. Woe to the poor guy who comes in wearing a Cowboys sweatshirt. This self-proclaimed inventor of Old Bay-dusted crab fries prides itself on messy eating. Cutlet sandwiches, Wiz-stuffed poppers, hit-or-miss wings, decent mussels red and hot roast beef are cust... read more
