I have trained at CJJA for the last 5 years, and have been involved with martial arts for most of my life. Mickey Sawfford is not only one of the finest instructors that I have ever met, he is also an incredible person. The time on the mats and the friendships I have made within the academy are irreplaceable. Chattanooga Jiu-Jitsu Academy is THE place to go in order to excel in both the art and the science of living a Jiu-Jitsu life. I would give this place 6 stars if it were an option.
Mickey Swafford is the most knowledgable and competent self-defense instructor in the area.

My wife and I started in early, 2015. All instructors have been very helpful, we find all members humble, friendly and willing to help all levels. My wife has never felt anything but respected and treated fairly.
I trained there a few years back. And they are legit as it gets. Great folks and not just some buy a belt place. You'll earn everything you get there.
My son has been at the academy for two years now. Mickey is great with the kids, and adults alike. I am thankful that we found this place! Absolutely recommend you come try them out!
Mickey is the real thing. Anyone lucky enough to train with him should consider themselves very fortunate.
