One of the best instructors I've ever had is Mickey, as well as his senior students, who Mickey ensures are knowledgeable and trained. Highly recommended for all ages.

Chattanooga Jiu Jitsu Academy is THE place to learn self defense! Mickey Swafford has created an environment where morals, proper training, and being humble about the art are the standard. The best place in Tennessee to train jiu jitsu. Mickey is a great instructor, very detailed and informative.
There are only a few places left on the Earth that teach Helio Gracie's Jiu-Jitsu, but Mickey Swafford's Chattanooga Jiu-Jitsu Academy is one of them. He teaches old school Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and some of his guys are just plain monsters. Good folks, family friendly, great attitudes, clean/modern facilities and the instruction is second to none. If you haven't trained there yet, you are missing out on what Jiu-Jitsu is really all about.
Amazing Jiu Jitsu school! I personally know of a handful of people who travel over an hour (one way) to train with Mickey because he's honestly the best instructor I've meet. Not just Jiu Jitsu but anything! If you want the same Jiu Jitsu that started the UFC and you want it for Self Defense look no further. Go train with Mickey, he actually cares about your learning. I gotta say...Thanks Mickey for all you've done for me personally. You changed my life!
