This is a quirky and clean HOSTEL but not a 4-star hotel. As long as you bear this in mind, you will be happy with your stay here.

The hotel room was nice, no complaints. But be warned if you are getting the street facing ground floor room the road is incredibly noisy, with lorries, people, and service vehicles which can be heard all night. Not a great night's sleep. There was no reception or staff which was a bit weird going in but I didn't mind too much. The reception would definitely go in that ground floor room though 😭

It’s definitely not a 4 star hotel. It’s tatty and the door frame was broken so the door appeared very flimsy. No staff on site. No breakfast option. Lumpy mattress and thin duvet. Shower was dribbly and overall the place definitely under delivered. It’s changed hands and it’s just not good. On the plus side it had clean sheets and towels but that’s about it. Wouldn’t come back.

I couldn’t leave soon enough. Ultimately, this was a negative and very poor experience due to two things: a very strong smell of mildew coming from the back/headboard of the mattress which kept waking me up the first night, and a very strange idea of customer service. When I reported this on the second day after a long conference, I had to wait nearly an hour for phone calls back from the “front desk” (there are no staff present it seems, just a 24 hour phone line), and they chose not to provide any support beyond telling me... read more
