Stayed at the Castle Hotel in Aberystwyth and had a great time. The place is nicely decorated with a relaxed vibe, and the staff are super chill. It’s a bit out of town, but being so close to the beach makes up for it. The bar is a real highlight with a pool table, dart board, good drinks, plus live music nights and free pool nights. Proper pub, interesting clientele!
This is the most expensive hotel we have ever stayed in (after we wanted a last minute 2 night stay to visit family nearby). Booking direct would have actually been £20 a night more than through booking.com !. I can honestly say it was very disappointing and actually made me quite sad. I understand the idea and appreciate the work done to make rooms at the pub, which is why I have put the stars, but otherwise it was quite a basic stay for the price.
