I've had 2 car-buying experiences in the past few days. One was traditional (aka painful), and one was at CarMax. The CarMax experience was very pleasant. Jared Waters (Louisville) was knowledgeable and laid-back but quick in answering questions and with the paperwork. When service department has your vehicle more then you, pretty much story tells itself. 8 months after purchase and 8 visits later, vehicle back in service again. Picked it up on Friday and check engine comes on way home. Back to service on Monday 10/23/2016. Please purchase extended warranty when getting a car, otherwise you will be stuck with a bill at least once a month. Absolute worst service department I have ever seen! My fiancé just bought a car in there, and a week later had to put it in the shop for a check engine light. Several lies were told by them, and now her car (that had the new car smell when we took it in there) now smells like cigarette smoke, and we found ashes in the car. Absolutely pathetic!
With just a few texts with Walter Head over a couple days, the exact vehicle that I wanted was transferred to Louisville. Then, in fewer than 60 minutes with Jared Meyer, I viewed, purchased, and drove my new Lexus home. Fantastic experience! Thank you.
I have to give credit where credit is due and today that credit goes to Carmax of Louisville, Jared Waters and Rich! I bought a Ford Focus from them 2 years ago and have had nothing but transmission issues due to numerous Ford recalls. I have had it at a Ford dealership a TON and Ford wouldn't do what needed done to fix the car. I called Carmax, they made me an appointment and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make it right!! We bought a vehicle two weeks ago, was told at the time of purchase that they would fix the Crack in the windshield at a cost to them. A repair man from Super glass came and left and the Crack is still there. We were told by car max that they will go no further to repair the windshield because a Super glass said it is stable and gave a lifetime warrenty.
