My husband took our **** *********in for an appraisal. It has 85600 miles. ****** **** ****appraises it at $**** & another site $**** as it is in excellent condition. I bought it brand new & only drove it to work & back (11 miles both ways) & around town. CarMax estimated appraised it for $**** & accused us of rolling back the odometer. We have never done that & don't even know how. This business is a scam & should be closed down.
Although the buying experience itself is easy and non-stressful, I HIGHLY recommend you dont make the same mistake I did and NOT take advantage of the CarMax 5 day grace period, to take the vehicle to a mechanic of your choice to have it checked out. We bought a vehicle from CarMax in Daly City, California in February and 3.5 months later it broke down. Was given an appraisal on a car for $*** less than a month ago. Went back for a second appraisal after I purchased a car from another dealership. Went to carmax the same day I bought a car to sell the old one and was given an appraisal of $***. Every reason I was given for the appraisal of $*** was the reason I was given the appraisal of $***.
