Yesterday I had a procedure scheduled for 11:30 am at CPH ambulatory surgery dept. which was already very upsetting because I have tremendous anxiety about needles and blood and I do not do well with fasting either. I WANTED THE EARLIEST APPT but wasn't given that option, and I didn't even find out about the scheduled time until the night before at 3:00 pm and I had to call them because no one had called yet. After unpleasantly waiting in the ER waiting room for five hours, hysterically crying, and holding my knees to my chest in agonizing pain, I was finally taken into a room. In this room I met a nurse PRACTITIONER; NOT to be confused with just "nurse," where he displayed no bedside manner and was incredibly arrogant. I tried telling him my symptoms from today and the previous week. Which the he responded "I was drunk and hungover." I had an MRI yesterday and forgot my jewelry on the chair where I was instructed to place it. I was able to recover my earrings but the ring was never found. My ring was a gold band with four birthstones in it. The girls in the office were pleasant and helpful but there should be an envelope or a Baggie given to patience to place jewelry in rather than being asked to place it on a chair.

I had to have a biopsy done the other day. As expected, I was quite anxious and nervous. My nurse, named Cindy, made my experience the best it could possibly be. She walked me through everything before hand. When it came time for the procedure, and I became even more visibly upset, she didn't even hesitate to grab my hand and let me squeeze away. The care I received from her and the rest of the staff in the room made my experience so much easier. Thank you for the comforting experience.
