Don't judge a book by it's cover! – This place doesn't look like much, but it's quite possibly my favorite place to eat. I know several people that have dismissed this place simply because of the building. Don't be one of these people! This place has excellent food as well as friendly service. Everyone I know that has tried Campbell's absolutely loves it. I've tried most of the menu and have no problem recommending anything on it, although the chicken, while good, isn't quite on the same level as the rest of the meats. I als... read more

Surprised ! – I was urprised to find real authentic southern, sould BBQ in Portland. I have eaten some of the bst BBQ in NC, SC, TN, TX, MD, DEL & VA. This family serves up real wood fired bbq. The cole slaw was the best I've ever eaten. The sliced pork was moist and smokey. This was good genuine BBQ no matter where you are from.....it is very good. Don't expect elegance or fine china....its a down home bbq joint. silverware is clear and the daugters have a warm freindly smile waitin for ya. Good food !

Good BBQ – This place has some of the best BBQ around. Highly recommend the pork ribs, and hot links. The greens are excellent as are the pinto beans and green salad. Desserts are very good as well. I've eaten here dozens of times, and though the food is almost always great, I have had the occasional serving of subpar meat, so consistancy is a little weak.

Great 'Q! – Our company has many lunches for inventory, etc. We always get take-out from Campbell's. On occasion, we need to pick up the lunch before they open, and Annette is always willing to meet us there with the yummy food. All of their meats are great, but the sausage is especially tasty...I also like the fact that it's a family run business and not some national chain. Keep up the good 'Q!!

What it is . . . GOOD – Arrived in the early evening and got seated right away. We got big huge glasses of water and then some delicous cornbread. I order pork ribs and my partner ordered Brisket. Pork ribs were great. Brisket was not as good but still delicious. Sides: Cole Slaw - excellent not overly dressed and a little sweet. Black eyes peas - very good. Greens were decent. I definitely would go back - again and again.

BBQ crew's favorite, to date... – OK, so you're looking for some good bbq. Let me tell you why my review of Campbell's is better than most. It's simple: I'm not a bbq snob! I don't come from the south, I didn't grow up in KC, I'm not here to say how this isn't the real thing...I'm here to say that this place has some damn good food! Our bbq crew tours all the bbq places in PDX, and so far this is the undisputed favorite! Meat is nice and smokey, sauce is good, and the hot links are miles beyond any others we've found in Port... read more

I'm so sad – This was my first taste of "authentic" Southern BBQ & I was SOOO dissaointed. The food was DRENCHED in BBQ sauce (& not good sauce), the chicken quality was VERY poor & the cornbread was dry & flavorless. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in some time. It's one redeeming quality was the pinto beans, however.

don't believe the hype – The food was just O.K. I had the sampler plate. The chicken and pork were over-cooked and dry, the beef ribs were tough and chewy, and everything tasted like the sauce. Maybe to cover up the burnt meat. I should have just opened up a bottle of sauce and gulped it down, I would have had the same result in taste. The cold slaw, corn bread, and potato salad were good. it's an art to make good slaw or potato salad +++. I guess if you have never eaten southern cooking this place is O.K., but if you have, ... read more
