We stayed here end of August - was a great find for us. The owners are lovely and engaging. We luckily managed to get the last room when we popped in needing to find somewhere for the night. They advised us on points of interest and food options as it was getting late. I would 100% recommend staying here - it has character and is super clean and comfy. Thank you so much!
Lovely stay, made to feel so welcome and at home. Chris and Johanna both very hospitable and friendly, had a couple of great lively musical evenings in the cosy candlelit hotel bar. Breakfast was delicious as well. The freshly brewed coffee and Tunnocks on arrival was a lovely touch. Fort Augustus is a very pretty village and the surrounding scenery is amazing. Stayed only one night on our way down from Inverness. We were quite exhausted from previous two days of traveling and had an early night in. The rooms and beds were comfortable and fully refreshed us for the next day. The breakfast was casual and the perfect start to the day. Will for sure stay here again on our next trip through!
The staff at The Caledonian are reason enough to stay here, not to mention the beautiful town of Fort Augustus and its proximity to other highlands sites, like Ben Nevis, Skye, and Loch Ness. We were taken care of extremely well by the owners, and looked forward to going back each night for a drink at the bar. Chris gave us great off the beaten trail recommendations of where to visit. We would love to stay here again.
