We're a fun and funky family restaurant on the banks of the Brazos River specializing in Cajun and Creole cooking, we're happy to keep it spicy or make it milder if that's your preference. We've been voted the best seafood in town. We serve hot boiled crawfish and fresh oysters on the half shell when they're in season. The place smelled terrible. Someone had thrown up in the sink, in the restroom (which should have been a clue), the food was so overfried that I had to put a napkin in my plate to soak up the grease before I could salvage some of the pieces to eat, and the "brand new" bottle of A-1 was so watered down that it looked like colored water, instead of a dipping sauce. I drove an hour to eat here, needless to say I won't be back!
Food was good, however the wait was exceptionally long, the wait is something we were prepared to deal with but when the hostess said 30 to 40 minutes and it takes 1 1/2 hours to be seated that is an issue.
Had drinks and an appetizer on the deck. Then wrapped it all sharing Bananas Foster
We loved it and will go back again. Our waitress was extremely good.
We had a couple of sandwhiches, while watching the river flow by. We had terrific service. Anthony was our server, and he took care of our every need
We sat on the back patio & it was perfect. Great service, great food & great company. Will be going back next time we're in the area. ❤️
Ate dinner there Sunday for our Anniversary. Only bad experience was when we walked in the door. The greeter/seater girl did not seem to care to be there or to help you out quickly. I had to ask the manager for a booth etc. After we were done with her it was okay. My son's burger was pretty gross. He wouldn't even eat it. It was still on our bill after me telling our waiter he didn't like it. He ate my catfish instead. Rest of the food was pretty good. I'm sure we will go back, hopefully they get a new girl up front. We had a great first experience. We came in just to get pics of the bridge. We stayed and had a drink. The next day we went back and ate dinner before heading home, we live in Corpus Christi area. Foot was amazing!! Ate the fried alligator for an appetizer, YUMMY!!! The four of us ordered different plates and sampled each other's food. Man, all 4 plates were very good!! The view is a nice bonus. We will go back next time we go to Waco.
The burgers and appetizers are good. The atmosphere is casual and fun and the view of the lake is great!
