The Busy Bee is a hometown favorite for no-nonsense, down-home cooking. The locals outnumber tourists, a telling indicator of the Busy Bee's style. Red faux-leather booths line one wall, opposed by an old-time diner-style counter with red false-leather topped stools. No fancy New Southern pretenses here, just bona fide Dixie standbys like fried chicken, oxtails, smothered pork chops, fresh fried corn, greens, and candied yams. The marriage of soul food and Southern tradition is a happy one, and it comes pretty cheap, too.

The food (fried & smothered pork chops, candid yams, and collard greens, corn bread) was great! More importantly, the service by Brittany was excellent!!
The best soul food on the planet! I traveled 5 hours to have the most delicious collard greens. I wish I could have it everyday!

My Sweetie and I ate here for a late lunch/early supper- 3:30pm..got the fried chicken plate with fried green tomatoes. .black eyed peas..okra and mac & cheese. ..OMG, best fried chicken I've ever had...Really!
