Beautiful lodge in a remote forest, peaceful area. Warm and cozy. With a hot tub. Lovely walks around the forest.
We stayed in woodpecker Lodge. Everything we wanted from a lodge cabin in a forest, so relaxing. The cabin had everything you needed to cook meals. Hot tub was perfect. Loved all the wildlife, especially the little bats at dusk. Staff super friendly and the local areas are so pretty. Definitely be back. Thank you.
First and probably last time here. We were in Larches and it is definitely in need of a update. Paintwork, very dull, bathroom fittings need renewing, shower is not powerful enough for a decent shower. Parking at the lodge is a 1 in 4 hill climb and very slippery in the wet. Location if you like to be out in the wilderness then this is for you. Roads in and out of the immediate area are very narrow and rough. If you like fishing you should be ok here...
There are a few things to consider before staying here. The road access is VERY tight with a few passing places. I have scratches on my car from this that will need mopping out professionally as I have a wider vehicle. There are no shops on site. You'll need to bring your own food. Check the fridge is actually on before putting food in it. Bring a camp chair to sit on as the sofas are VERY soft. Bring blankets also.
