A tenant with State Farm renters insurance caused extensive damage to another apartment. The apartment building was covered by State Farm Insurance, but the claim was filed under the tenant's insurance. The State Farm estimate called for replacing the kitchen counters, but reusing the back splash, even though the back splash pattern is no longer available so the counter and back splash would not match. State farm is not a good neighbor. Their client damaged my vehicle and they did not fix all the damage they're client caused. They low balled the estimate hoping we would just accept the check, we opted to have it repaired, the repairs cost over double the amount they offered us in the check. They said it was prior damage although it was not and refused to fix the damage caused by their client. I would avoid them as an insurer and pray that you don't have a claim with them. After 14 years with no policy lapse for nonpayment, 4-5 different agents changes(No fault or decision of my own), three claims filed with no other violations, yet this "like a good neighbor" company decided to not renew my policy. Beware and stay away for filing for coverage will only penalize you in the end.

This company is very greedy & crooked . After sending me a check for cancellation of my insurance for the 2nd time in 2 months on 4-12-2017 I cashed because i was tired of dealing with the fight to have insurance with them. I went with another company on 4-18-2017 I have not had any problems since then with my new insurance. I have been insured with State Farm since 1979 with Auto, Home, Life and Business insurance, I recently had a vehicle stolen and Melissa the Adjustor on my claim looked for every way to deny the claim, she has delayed the claim, she has made it so I can not reach a supervisor or another person to discuss my claim, I call and my cell and home numbers automatically route to her voice mail, she has stated that per my policy the car theft is not covered because it was taken by an employee of mine and I gave consent to drive the ... read more

I have state farm and roadside assistance. My wife is dissabled and her car broke down they said they would send Broadway towing and after 4 hours they said they are not coming . I called ins company and they said they would call me back and never did they did not even know ehere the Florida Turnpike is located because there agents answering phone are in Canada. Worse company I have ever deslt with.

Nightmare plain and simple. You have now entered a twilight zone where your communications are ignored, purposefully misunderstood and your claim impeded at every step. I spoke with about a dozen people there who all gave misleading and different information. I'd say "get it in writing" but they will renege on even that ! You may wind up paying for your own repair, rental car, surgery, or medical bills even if they wrote down they would pay. I live in a townhome where my garage ceiling and garage door was damaged by my neighbor’s water pipe since they occupy the upper portion. They were insured by State Farm and the claims processor I spoke was extremely rude and unhelpful. They initially contacted me to get the bylaws from and informed me that it’s the only documented that they needed. Cancelled my State Farm car insurance. They deducted money from my account. It will take three weeks for me to receive my money back. STAY AWAY from State Farm. Also, worst customer service when I was in a fender bender last year. STAY AWAY from State Farm.
