I had an accident 3 months ago, total loss of car. I have been fighting with them to find a fair market value. They would not accept any of the documentation I had for cars of the exact make, model and year within 4 hours of my zip code. They hired an appraiser. His appraisal showed 2 comps. 1 had the same year, same make, neither one used was the same model. His documentation of mileage on one was 200,000 miles incorrect. I have paid high premiums and clearly not covered. BTW this was full coverage.
I have had homeowners insurance through State Farm for 23 years and my parents for 40 years before me. In all those years with approximately $63,000 paid to them in premiums, only one claim was ever filed for loss of property when my car was broken into while on vacation, and they cancelled my policy. Not good business practice in my opinion!
Horribly incompetent persons working there, from management to people operating their 800#. I purchased a new 2017 truck as a surprise for my husband. It was a replacement for a 2009 hyundai accent, nice upgrade :) I went to my StateFarm agent to take the old vehicle off and start a new policy for the truck and was told I couldn't. I was a customer of State Farm for over 11 years, and up until a month ago, have had good service regarding any claims, quotes, etc. After having to file a residential theft claim, in addition to actively prosecuting the thief, I had service that has lacked the communication, efficiency, and good service that State Farm is known for. My family has been with State Farm for over 20 years and due to numerous issues we canceled our insurance and went with another company; however, State Farm made an auto withdraw from our account the next month and when we called to complain we were told it would take 3 Months for a refund and we are still waiting for the refund and it has been 3 Months.....TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE
With two different agencies, they randomly stopped doing auto-pay, didn't tell me they did, and then charged at random times, whenever they felt like it. Both times were when I had major health crises, so I wasn't monitoring their every step to be sure they did what they said they were doing. This second time, they even emailed saying that they were adding charges and whatnot to autopay, assuming it was still going on. I would give zero stars if I could. State Farm started to handle the claim of my car accident because their driver was at fault. They stated they were covering the loss of my vehicle and they sent me an approval letter of what they were paying out to the finance company.
