Me and my partner came across the Brook House Inn while we were trying to find a place to eat. We were seated immediately in a lovely quiet part of the restaurant. The staff were absolutely amazing and quick to serve. One in particular, James, came frequently throughout our time there and was very polite and warm. Visited the Brook House Inn for a quick drink after travelling up on the Eskdale Railway (two minutes from station). Had a local beer and was met by really friendly and welcoming staff and regulars. I had a local beer which was top quality. Beautiful location in lovely surrounds. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food menus looked lovely but we didn’t have time to eat. Recommended.
We were a party of 4 staying at the National Trust campsite next door. We thought we'd try here for dinner and it was really wonderful. The food was really delicious - an imaginative menu, and all the meals we had were superb. We ate here twice during our stay and it was HOT. 30°+ outside and the chef still managed to turn out fantastic food. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we cannot recommend this spot highly enough.
Came here for food after a walk around the area. Nice chilled out vibe, staff were great. Nice selection of local real ale, and the food was outstanding - burger in particular was amazing. Prices were fair, and what a location to sit outside and enjoy it all.
