The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

We had the lunch buffet. The food was unremarkable. The potatoes were instant potatoes, the gravy was from a can, the vegetable was canned, the meats were good, chicken, ham and beef. The beef was very tender. The dressing was very good. I found it odd that soft drinks were served in a can instead of from a fountain. They provided a glass that was maybe 6 or 8 oz size.
