The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

We just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary and Breitbach’s was our choice of restaurant to have our Anniversary meal. Our meal and service was excellent as always. We try to make it up there at least a couple times a year.

The restaurant is off the beaten path, but it makes for a nice road trip. Had the award winning battered pork tenderloin that was spectacular. My wife had a grilled chicken type sandwich which was, as she described, okay but not writing home about. She did like the daily soup offering. Split a piece of pie for desert and it was okay.
