The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

Very nice setting, great view of the River Basin just down the road. Great service and great food. We'd happily visit again.
Went there for the first time yesterday 10/11/2017. What a great surprise. We ended up having the buffet for only $11.95 per person. The price of the buffet was so reasonable considering the variety of the food on it and more so the quality. I have never had buffet food taste like this did. I normally steer clear of buffets but not this one. Highly recommend. It is 2-2 1/2 hours from home but might be worthy of a day trip in the near future. I must add the interior is very nicely decorated.
