The area is lovely, the views are great and the idea of the pod is wonderful. Positives - lovely location, clean pod, hot tub was amazing, views were outstanding in rain or shine. There is a park and firepit area which look nice - we never used these but a nice add on for those with children. Negatives - washing line was broken and dumped to one side, radiator was broken, toilet seat was off to the side and wobbly, welcome pack promised biscuits that weren't there, we paid an extra £10 for the dog to stay and was promised a ... read more

Had a lovely stay at the Braeside Retreats. Ideally located to get about the north coast, Dunnet bay nearby, short drive to John O Groats, a bit further afield to Wick and Thurso naturally on your doorstep. The site itself is very clean and well kept, there's even a wee robot grass cutter working away diligently when called into action! The views across the bay are amazing and the site itself is fairly tranquil due to the distance between each pod. lovely place with stunning views and a cozy, comfortable bed, equipped with all the facilities you’d need. The hot tub was a real highlight, though the water wasn’t quite hot enough the following day. The only real downside was the internet – it wasn’t working during our stay, so we had to rely on mobile data, which wasn’t very stable. Otherwise, a peaceful and relaxing retreat.

Beautifully presented, cosy, homely and a great location for exploring. Attentive friendly hosts, we couldn't have asked for more. Perfect stop on our NC500 journey.
