We live in the NYC area and we like food (and cook a lot) but we are not food snobs; just a 50-something couple who enjoys a very special meal from time to time. This is it. I have been lucky enough to dine here three times in recent months and now I can't believe it took me 12 years to get here.

Superb! – I have enjoyed dining at all the past Bouleys and this current Bouley is a gem of a restaurant from the delightful touch of Fuji apples displayed on shelves, their sweet fragrance pervading the air of the foyer, to the exquisite French décor of the lounge and beyond. Whether seated in the main dining room or equally charming back room, one can not help but feel relaxed and at ease in such gracious surroundings. The cuisine is French/ American and the menu is fairly extensive, offering and array of dishes and wine t... read more

not bad Although I don't remember too much of my meal, I know the service was impressive and they sent us home with packaged cookies. The ambiance and dishes seem to cater more towards an older, sophisticated audience.

frenchy Good, classic french food. A bit too stuffy for my tastes, and not an overly memorable meal, but I'm glad I was able to eat here.

Don't bother – Having been before, we booked a month in advance for Christmas Day. We arrived to chaos. No greeting, nowhere to sit or stand, and no table. We were eventually informed (when we tracked down a person) that the wait would be 1/2 an hour. But people in the full waiting area had been WAITING FOR OVER AN HOUR. We also heard the restaurant service was very slow, about 4 hours for the whole meal. People were very annoyed. We went around the corner instead to the old NY standby, where we had lovely, attentive service... read more

A new york experience – Bouley is a fine dining experience. You go there for special occassions - birthdays and anniversaries. It's expensive and beautiful but really not stuffy or snobby. Once you are in there (men, jackets are required) and everyone is all dressed up, it's just so civilized. So the atmosphere works, but just as importantly - the food is delcious. Filling but not too heavy, interesting and flavourful but not gimicky or odd. We just loved it. And we were doing okay till the desserts, where we definitely went... read more

The place has the most amazing decor – When you walk into this place there is fuji apples on the walls, and the aroma bursts into your face as you open the door, I have never seen something like that before, the Chef is from France or Europe, area, and he though of the idea to entice the appetite, but fuji apples help with head aches, like a pain relief Advil with out the meds. The place is lightly lite, with candles, and gorgeous artwork, I think this would be a great date spot. The Decor is mid evil times like, and the bat... read more

Over-Rated – While dining at Bouley, the Food was at par at best. When you're paying 255 for a Chef's Tasting Menu and a Wine Paring, you'd expect more. The attitude of the servers is unbelievable. I pay to eat and pay your tips, treat me well is my thinking. Troy, the Maitre'D was a complete mess...Fine dining at its worst in NYC.

No longer my favorite--but still very good – My Husband and I use to go to Bouley regularly recently, however, the food has not been as wonderful. In addition, the room is feeling old. They also seem to have a fly problem bc everything we have gone recently there are flys buzzing around our food--maybe it the flowers but they need to remedy this problem. The breads are still amazing as are the desserts and the service is also very good, but a little stuffy. Good food but not great; more authentic french than Daniel - for exa... read more
