This much-loved restaurant reportedly was once the site of boxing matches refereed by none other than Ernest Hemingway. Now you will find avant-garde artwork in the gallery upstairs and great chow at modest prices in the restaurant. Caribbean flavors predominate and baking is done on the premises where desserts, rolls and breads pour from the ovens. All three meals are served here and Sunday brunch draws crowd. No reservations are taken, so be prepared to wait in line. That may, in fact, be half the fun.

too long of a wait – dont expect to be seated in under two hours,this last november our freinds went to key west for the first time and because rachael ray stopped at blue heaven they had to go,after a two hour fifteen minute wait we were all seated ,a hour for our food to get there,25 minutes trying to pay the tab.we told them there are great little places all over the island that havent received all the hype
Great Place – What an awesome place to dine...unique is not even a word to descripe it...The food was excellent...so was the service and ambiance/entertainment...i.e....chickens. We have eaten at many 5 and 4 star resturants and the food there equaled and surpassed. We ate at the Blue Heaven more than once during our stay....
Bring a Friend! – We visited Key West with 4 other couples and have a tendancy to go seperate ways for breakfast. We went to Blue Heaven they went for "tradition fare" eggs and bacon. The wait was well worth it! Mimosas tied us over. The Lobster Benedict was superb - so good that we raved to our friends and they agreed to come with us the next day. Great...but avoid it during rush! – I live in Key West and I have to say that Blue Heaven is one of my favorite places to take visitors. Only never during meal rushes...they tend to have young staff who are usually working their 3rd job. The food is always great...we love the swing and the fun things to do around the restaruant. The chickens are little uncomforting at first, but you grow to like them. There is nowhere else like it...don't miss it!
Worth It!!! – You have to look for the Blue Heaven, but it really, really is worth it. Everything is a 10 and it is a fun place to boot.
r u kidding – went there 2 years and maybe it deserved the rating then but we had a poor experience there. the service was xcruciatingly slow. two hours to bring grilled cheese and pasta for the kids. you can imagine how that makes the kids react. the waiter just disappeared for prolonged periods. no help. no checking up. we wanted to quickly eat and leave to no avail. and so did the many customers waiting for our table. and the waiter to top it off asked us if we could move along for other customers. they don't take resevat... read more
Great Food and Better Deserts – Blue Heaven is a most for any couple or group that goes to Key West. Great food, Great Service!!! A all around wonderful time. They had the best deserts on the island if you are tired of Key Lime Pie. The outdoor setting makes for a fun time.
my heaven – i absolutely love blue heaven! every time i'm in the keys, i make sure to go to blue heaven and have the bananas heaven, not to mention the jerk chicken. the service is always great, as is the food. i can't imagine a better way to eat than out in the breeze, with cats and chickens strolling by...
too much hoopla – Blue heaven is great for brunch. It's a fun place but lets not get carried away. For foodkey west has some very good choices
