Called BGE Home Monday a week ago that we had no heat--it's a week later and still no heat--said they will come tomorrow to put on the new part--shouldn't have to wait a week. Martha
BGE home contract for plumbing is a waste of money. First of all $50 for every single problem you report on same visit and add on extra for equipment. Turns out price to pay would be same as ***************, so whats the use? This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. A total "hit or miss". Supervisors can be rude and condescending. Information provided inaccurate. Wrong billing. It takes several phone calls to resolve issues.
BGE will bill you each month and won't do any routine maintenance such as annual air-conditioning and heating checks unless the customer specifically calls them. The service is essentially asking you to throw your money away when you could be putting the same dollars into the bank or put money aside on your own for future repairs. The website misrepresents the services provided by BGE. They will NEVER contact you to schedule any of these so called annual services. Just needed some refrigerant for my AC and they charged $100 per pound when you can buy it on Amazon for $30. So triple the retail price, plus $100 service charge. Never again.
Since I live in South Carolina, I have BGE home for my rental property in Arnold and thank goodness I do! Prior to them I my renters clogged the upstairs toilet. A local plumber cost me 600.00!!!! I signed on with BGE home and man I am glad I did. They have responded to my Hot Water Heater going bad, two other clogs in the plumber, and an electric line that got hot and needed isolated. I have trouble with the BGE plumbing service. While Jason did a good job on sinks and resetting a toilet the company sent out someone else to do an additional estimate for dropping some lines for a roughed in 1/2 bath. We scheduled Jason to do both jobs when it came time to do the basement 1/2 bath they went to get the supplies, then came back and said the office tells me I need to pull a permit. Heat stopped working called them guy came. Worked for few hours woke up at midnight house cold again. Spent all next day waiting again next guy came said first guy didn't fix it right after asking me if I had heat on. Worked less than two days stopped again. Third guy fixed it came home from work house cold again. So waiting for fourth guy in last six days.
Do NOT use these services! As a licensed real estate agent with over 20 years of experience I have dealt with my fair share of Home Warranty and Home Service Companies.
