I had a wonderful experience with the hill skills course! We had two different instructors for each day, Dan and Claire, both of whom were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Dan was kind enough to help carry my bags when I was struggling in the heat, and Claire was exceptional at reading the group and ensuring we all went at a comfortable pace with both learning and moving. Great day, Claire taught me the pathway to working in climbing as a coach. She taught me how to run kids sessions and a good warmup, and fun games to get people engaged. Great training course. She answered all my questions and taught me a lot about safety and risk assessment and safeguarding.

I’ve done a couple of courses, 2 day intermediate and then 5 day learn to lead courses. The courses are well structured building skills and confidence over time looking at movement, gear placement and rope techniques. The instructors Oli and Alex were highly knowledgable and understanding of the skill level and challenges of those on the course to give personalised coaching and direction. We had a fabulous introductory day to outdoor climbing with the team from Beyond the Edge. Local knowledge and years of experience meant we were in safe hands and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
