I just had major surgery here performed by Fong W. Liu, MD practices Gynecologic Oncology at Beth Israel. After waking up I discovered my surgeon Dr Lui had contacted my family and shared private non medical information about me and my social life that has now ruinned our relationship. I felt betrayed and sickened to learn that healing hands were attatched to hateful heart. Brought here by ambulance. Brought to a hallway with 3 other people in it.. Not one physician or nurse came to see me for 45 minutes. I hit the call button and watched 6 doctors and nurses walk by me. None of them stopped to even shut off the call button. I walked out after one hour and found my husband who had not even been informed as to where to find me. I called from the car to tell them that I left and why. No one cared. I cannot possibly thank Dr Michael Curry and the team at the Liver Center , Dr. Weinstein in Radiology and the entire radiology team of nurses , and the nurses and doctors in the Reisman building 11th floor oncology floor. Each and every one of them has taken such wonderful care of my husband for the past three years. They all remain positive and upbeat while showing overwhelming compassion and care. I would not trust my husbands care to any other team than the team in place at BIDMC. May God Bless You All. ��
The ER doctor accused me of being an opiate addict and then tried to release me even though I had burned a hole in my esophagus and had air caught in my chest. I only know I had this hole because I forced them to admit me into the hospital for overnight observation and they still didn’t read my X-ray until I was being discharged at 1 pm the next day and a doctor ran in my room saying, and I quote, “oh good you’re still here” I was planning on going on a flight, they brought me by ambulance from the airport. Obgyn receptionist are so unprofessional, especially jamiliah , who is sooo rude , and disrespectful. I called because I had contractions and asked to speak to a on call obgyn and she said she’s about to go on lunch and to call back . Like are you serious ?!? . You can’t put in a note in the computer to have a nurse call me back and when I asked her to do so she said “I’m asking for to much” smh
After having an ERCP procedure and my gallbladder removed at Beth Israel, I had to go to the ER again for extreme abdominal pain just months later. They did an ultrasound which didn't show anything abnormal and said there was nothing else they can do at this time, and decided to discharge me after I pleaded to do more testing. They advised to go home and follow up with a GI specialist on Monday. I was barely checked on for the 2-3 hours I was there, after the pain meds wore off they would not give me any more to help manage ... read more
The ER staff is rude, and snarky. They're ignorant towards patients, and don't seem to take patient concerns seriously. They let patients get upset, and then ignorantly smirk and think it's a laughing matter. And the security staff here is terribly rude as well, the guys just stand around and crack jokes/make comments about patients to each other. Definitely unacceptable.
