I have had this credit union for 2 years. I opted for credit unions always over banks because the smaller membership numbers usually results in better customer service and care. This has NOT been my experience AT ALL with Bellco. I have never had a friendly rep. whenever I would call the main hotline (1************1) nor any local branch. Nobody is ever really happy to assist you, and it shows. Most recently, my card was to expire. After researching our member’s concerns, we have been able to confirm that at no time was her account access “frozen”. Our Fraud Department discovered that a card-not-present transaction was declined in late November due to the member entering the wrong expiration date on the card. We believe this is why she may have thought her account was frozen. The Fraud Department also confirmed that the member could have used her current card, until the new debit card arrived. The worst. Ruined my credit. Try to make payments to them is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. They will give you a confirmation number and still not take the payment out of your bank. If you're payment is due on the first they'll wait till the 20th or so maybe? Can't wait till they try to tag me with late charges. I asked about it and was told they don't go over that till the last payment is made. Yeah. Ok. Seems funny to me. I recently went through the private party auto loan process with Bellco. Customer service is terrible and doesn't care about the customer. It took about 5 weeks for the loan to go through. For expamle I spoke with Shelly in loan processing on multiple occasions confirming and asking questions; She had a major attitude and never stuck to what she said, such as sending out loan paperwork on a promised date. Bellco has looked into our member’s concern regarding our loan process and the time it took to complete. Contrary to our member’s allegations, the process took approximately 3 weeks from start to closing. Since a private party sale has many parties involved (i.e., the seller, the seller’s financing company, the buyer) and many times these parties are not motivated to return documents quickly, these loans take longer to finalize. Customer Service is poor. Customer service does not service the customer; they don't have answers for us clients. I spent 20 minutes verifying and re-verifying my personal information to finally get a person that didn't have an answer for me. She told me she was just customer service and I had to call another department. She couldn't find an answer for me or transfer me to this other department. Really?

I have had USAA for 18 years for banking services. We opened a HELOC through Bellco Credit Union and were forced to open a checking and savings account with them as well to utilize the funds from the HELOC. Bellco signed us up unbeknownst to us for their Bill Pay service and began charging a monthly $6 fee for not using it to pay anything. Since USAA is my bank and I do not use the Bellco checking for anything, I was unaware of the fee since I only access the HELOC account. This person made several incorrect statements in her review, and we will clarify. First misstatement: Contrary to the comments made in the member’s review, they were not forced to open any accounts with Bellco, including the Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC). Since they applied for and were approved for a HELOC, at least one of the borrowers had to become a member first. As a credit union, we can only make loans to members. I have been a member of Bellco for apx 30 years. The customer service has been great until the last few years. It has become non existent. When they make an error the customer is supposed to pay for it with time, money, inconvenience, or all three. Management is useless and cooperate management is unavailable to customers. Really???

Terrible Customer service! I tried to resolve an issue after a family emergency. After the stress of the emergency, Bellco was anything but sympathetic, they basically said it was not their problem and there was nothing their institution was able to do. I was (20) days late on my payment, after multiple phone calls and emails suggesting I would be able to get it up to date on the next pay day. I'm absolutely livid. I had someone charge something to my account and they can't do anything except have me fill out a form and wait who ******* knows how long to get my money. That was money I needed and any other bank I work with would at least front me the funds until its figured out. This is absolutely ridiculous and peoples livelihoods they are messing with. Because of your crap policies I might get evicted because I NEED THAT ******* MONEY. **** you bellco.

Our member notified us on August 5, 2017 regarding possible fraud on her account. A provisional credit was provided on August 14, 2017, well within regulatory guidelines. We are continuing our investigation and will provide the member with notice of the resolution of our investigation upon completion. Thank you.

This is one of the worst places you could do business. Run don't walk away from this institution. They are truely clueless and if Mr **** or ****** have a clue they should train their people. I paid off a Ford in September of 2016 and as of today Bellco shows an amount of $207 still due. The vehicle wwas paid off in advance and Bellco sent me the title so go figure. Contrary to our member’s statements, Bellco does not show a balance due on his loan. Our system shows the loan was paid off in September 2016, as the member described. Based on our investigation, the issue is not with Bellco, but with the credit bureau for not reporting this trade line correctly. We have sent a request to the three credit bureaus to correct the issue, but this process can take from 60 to 90 days to complete.
